The US Ambassador to Croatia, Nathalie Reyes, in an emotional speech on Instagram, emphasized how it was an honor for her to serve and strengthen relations between the two countries.
Reyes emphasized the key role of people-to-people contacts in relations between the two countries, which were further strengthened last year, with more than 776.000 American citizens visiting Croatia and nearly two million Croatians living in the United States, enriching American society.
She recalled how during her tenure she traveled throughout the country, organized regional meetings with Americans, had numerous interactions with students, and enjoyed the local cuisine.
She paid special attention to economic cooperation, highlighting progress in energy independence through renewable energy projects and the expansion of the LNG terminal. Reyes also praised the strengthening of defense cooperation, including the procurement of Black Hawk helicopters and Bradleys, making Croatia a regional security leader.
She concluded that relations between the US and Croatia are stronger than ever and thanked Croatia for its hospitality with the message: "Thank you and see you later!"
