The 25th anniversary celebration of the Croatian Emigrant Poetry Association NY will be held this week in New York – the cradle of Croatian emigrant poetry. The event begins on Thursday, April 24, with the main event scheduled for Friday. The program ends on Sunday, and all events will take place at the Croatian Catholic Mission in Astoria.
The organizers of this event are the Croatian Catholic Mission of the Blessed Ivan Merz from Astoria, the Poetry Association of Croatian Emigrant Lyrics New York, the Central State Office for Croats Outside the Republic of Croatia, the American-Croatian Congress, the University of Zadar, and the Croatian Club for International Cooperation.
The moderator of the entire program will be Josip Bogović, and the Organizing Committee consists of Don Saša Ilijić, head of HKM Astoria, and members Nada Pupačić and Nada Pritisanac Matulich.
The organizers invite all lovers of poetry and the Croatian word to join this celebration and thereby support the work and contribution of Croatian poets from the diaspora.
