Tamara Plastić: We are also planning to open a higher stonemasonry school in Pučišća

Many churches and buildings throughout Dalmatia were built from the famous Brac stone, and one of the most famous is Diocletian's Palace in Split. The stone from Brač is also known in the world, it is used to decorate the lobby of the United Nations building in New York.

The centuries-old tradition of stonemasonry on the island of Brač is preserved by the stonemasonry school in Pučišća. It is the only secondary school in this part of Europe that studies stone processing with ancient Roman hand tools and educates future stonemasonry masters. Tamara Plastić, the director of the school, talks about how the curriculum for the column Our Beautiful Dalmatia looks like.
