On July 16, the town of Hvar and the local Tourist Board intend to raise the Olympic flag in honor of their first Olympian, sailor Filip Jurišić.
Until the end of the Olympics, the flag will be flown on Mandrać, in the center of the city, next to a commemorative plaque on which the local writer Zorka Bibić explained the story of the first Olympian from Hvar.
The raising of the Olympic flag will be accompanied by the Regatta of Life song, which you can read more about HERE, which Neno Belan dedicates to the struggle of Filip Jurišić.
Filip Jurišić is a member of Split's Mornar and will represent Croatia in the ILCA class (former laser) at the Olympic Games.
