Mijo and Draga from Freiburg celebrated 50 years of marriage

Another Zlatni pir was celebrated in the Croatian diaspora. Mijo and Draga Matić Mijušić recently celebrated their 50th birthday together with their children, grandchildren, relatives and friends.
The celebrations began with a Holy Mass in the Church of the Heart of Jesus in Freiburg, led by Veselko Župarić, head of the Croatian Catholic Mission in Freiburg.

The well-known entrepreneur from Germany, Mijo Matić, married his sweetheart on January 16, 1974, in the church of St. Mihovila in Tomislavgrad. There were about 30 guests at the wedding, and afterwards they went to Dragina's house in Sarajlije, and the next day they gathered in Borčani for a "big lunch".

"Moja Draga has always been beautiful, and she remains that way to this day," says the enamored Mijo.

They celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their Christian marriage in the presence of their children Ivan, Anđa Stipe and Josip, grandchildren Marija, Michael, Lorena and Romeo, as well as the son-in-law, bride, relatives and all those present who attended the Sunday mass.

They have been living and working in Germany since 1974. Mijo started as a manual laborer, and today he is a successful entrepreneur with more than 80 employees. It was a path over thorns to the stars. We heartily congratulate Mia and Draga on the golden jubilee of their life together and wish them to spend their retirement days in good health and love with their offspring and all of us, they stressed. Croats from Freiburg.
