Croatian Women's NetworkTM announced the names of 15 winners of the prestigious "Influential Croatian Women" award and one winner of the "Future Leaders" award, which will be awarded on International Women's Day, Saturday, March 8, 2025 in Zagreb.
The winners for 2025 come from 6 countries, and among them is Nevenka Komarica, professor of art history at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zagreb and former director of Atlas Ambassador, the largest Croatian tour operator for North America from 1987 to 1998. Nevenka founded and organized the work of the first Croatian national tourist office for North America in New York and was its first director from 1998 to 2012. As an art historian, Nevenka always combined culture and tourism. In addition to promoting Croatian tourism throughout the USA, she also promoted Croatian cultural heritage through tourism and effectively put Croatia on the tourist map of the American market.
During her career, Nevenka organized many Croatian international exhibitions, concerts at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York, lectures on Croatian archeology at the Getty Museum (LA) on Apoximene found near Mali Lošinj, along with special promotions of Croatian archaeological sites. Nevenka was a member of the executive committee of the European Travel Commission between 2000 and 2005. The Croatian newspaper Globus declared her one of the 100 most influential Croatian women in the world, and she is the winner of two awards from the President of the Republic of Croatia for the promotion of Croatian culture, for the exhibition of Croatian UNESCO monuments in the World Monuments Fund gallery in New York.

The Influential Croatian Women Award recognizes the leadership, innovation and influence of Croatian women, and the Future Leader Award recognizes enterprising young women between the ages of 16 and 25 who demonstrate exceptional talent and leadership. You can view the list of all winners at LINK.
