Saturday was a really good day for Hajduk fans. Not only did they "have" achieved a significant victory, but fans of this popular Croatian football club also managed to gather and celebrate in New York after the "covid" break. Zvonimir Antolos, President of the Society of Friends of Hajduk in New York, together with friends and members of the Croatian community in Astoria, managed to bring a breath of Split to the center of the world, the city of New York, for a few hours. A city where all the cultures of the world intertwine, and this Croatian football club has found its place there.
In order not to be lacking in the Croatian atmosphere, in addition to the band Memento, which entertained the audience with popular songs dedicated to the city where Hajduk was born and lives, there were other fan hits that kept the audience at the Most Precious Blood Parish Pastoral Center on their feet and helped ensure that the numerous calories of Croatian food, which was in abundance from Croatian restaurants, and the organizer would like to especially thank the Rudar Club, as well as homemade cakes, did not leave a few extra pounds as a result of the Bila noći.
Like any true Croatian celebration, this one was also abundant in wine from the homeland, for which special thanks can be given to the largest importer of Croatian wines to America, the company Croatian Premium Vine. Not only did the guests go home filled with a great atmosphere, but many lucky ones also took home prizes they had won in the lottery, gifts from numerous sponsors: from restaurants Delmonico, Dubrovnik, Bukaleta and DK Steak House, to prosciutto and sheep's cheese and numerous other Croatian products, gifts from sponsors and friends of Hajduk. Many took home Cro Pride T-shirts, a unique Croatian design. There were even a few chains with a cross, a gift from Dinamo player Marijan Pavišić because, as he said, we still need to pray a lot for Hajduk to successfully finish the season.
The media sponsor was the non-profit organization CAMA Corp, which promotes the Croatian language and culture in the diaspora, especially through the media platform Croatians Online.
Finally, we wish Hajduk a successful continuation of the season, and to the fans of this club in New York, that the tradition of the New York City Night Party continues in the coming years. This was the wish expressed by all those present at the end of the evening.
