The Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, will be in Washington at the beginning of May, where he will receive a prestigious award. Distinguished International Leadership Award which is awarded by Atlantic Council.
Award ceremony "Distinguished Leadership Awards", often called and "Washington Oscars", will be held on May 8, 2025 in Washington, D.C. The award explanatory statement states that the Croatian Prime Minister is being recognized for his “Croatia's visionary leadership, unwavering commitment to European unity and dedication to strengthening transatlantic relations".
In addition to Prime Minister Plenković, a retired general will also receive the awards. John “Jay” Raymond, the first chief of operations of the US Space Force to be awarded the award Distinguished Military Leadership Award, then a famous actress, singer and dancer Rita Moreno, winner Distinguished Artistic Leadership Award, Ukrainian entrepreneur and philanthropist Victor Pinchuk, to whom it will be delivered Distinguished Humanitarian Leadership Award, and former US National Security Advisor Stephen J. Hadley, winner Distinguished Service Award.
A day earlier, on May 7, Plenković will participate as a special guest at a reception marking the relaunch Congressional Croatian Caucus for the 119th US Congress.
