A one-meter-sized asteroid will hit the Earth's atmosphere over the Philippines on Wednesday, the European Space Agency (ESA) announced, predicting that it should happen at 19:08 p.m. Croatian time.
"It's harmless, but people in the area will be able to see a spectacular fireball", field from ESA in a post on Xu, formerly Twitter.
The asteroid was only discovered this morning at the Catalina Sky Survey Observatory in Arizona. Interestingly, this is only the ninth asteroid that humanity managed to discover before the impact.
"It is a sign of the improvement of our planetary defense capabilities," added from ESA Operations.
