About 10 participants from 2 countries of the world gathered at the opening of the anniversary 200th Meeting G15 Conference, Decade of Business Connection. The patrons of the Jubilee Conference are practically all relevant state institutions, from the President of the Republic of Croatia, the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Croatian Parliament, the Ministry of Demography and Immigration, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Home of Emigrants.
Opening the Conference President of the Association Meeting G2 Antun Krešimir Buterin said that in the past 10 years business people of Croatian origin from abroad enabled networking with more than 300 companies and startups while more than 2000 participants from 33 countries gathered at all conferences and hundreds of business collaborations were achieved.
"Our goal is to bring our hard-working people from abroad, connect them with people from the homeland who need fresh inspiration for business, mentoring or a reliable partner, start the flow of capital in both directions and make it easier for domestic companies to enter foreign markets, with the help of our people who know the mentality their countries. We dream and believe that We can turn the dispersion of Croats in the world into an advantage, an economic weapon and tool. We believe that Croatia can be richer than Switzerland, happier than Singapore and tidier than Denmark", concluded Mr. Buterin.
Addressing the crowd Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman announced the opening of a number of Croatian embassies around the world.
"We are planning to open an embassy in Peru because over 230 Peruvians of Croatian origin live there. We want to do the same in Brazil in Sao Paulo, in New Zealand in Wellington and in Mexico. In Vancouver, Canada, where 50 thousand Croats live, we intend to open a consulate general. Today, you can no longer vote anywhere except in diplomatic and consular missions, which we must change. We need to change the law that will make this possible. It takes six hours to fly from Ottawa to Vancouver. Who can come and vote? If we do not open representative offices, we distance ourselves from our people. Let's open them wherever we can - nothing is expensiveGrlić Radman concluded.
Special adviser to the President of the Republic for the economy, Velibor Mačkić he emphasized that Croatia should base its economy on aggressiveness and attractiveness.
"Croatia must change. Since 2013, it has changed its growth structure and become a different economy. Joining the EU also meant a second wave of emigration, and in the last 30 years we have a million fewer people. In order not to face another million less in ten years, we have to change something. Croatia can and must do better, and to succeed we must work together. Together means we include the knowledge, experience and capital of those who are not here but want to help", emphasized Mr. Mačkić.
In the continuation of the Conference, the participants had the opportunity to listen Stipe Božić's motivational speech, our celebrated alpinist entitled "Croats on top of the world - how to overcome the ascent and obstacles". For years now, many have asked him what motivates him to conquer some of the highest mountain peaks in the world for 40 years, especially since alpinism means living on the edge of danger, and climbing the top does not result in material benefits.
"Socializing with people and making friends on the mountain gives us experiences that can only be compared to those gained in the war and the people. Motivation is something that cannot be taught - it comes from within. But when you have it, you can push the limits of human possibility. However, nothing can be achieved without a team. In sports, as in alpinism, it is not important what color a team member is, but that he can work as part of a team", said Stipe Božić.
During the Who is Who in G2 session, each attendee was given the opportunity to pitch their business in 30 seconds and highlight who they wanted to connect with, followed by networking. Croatians Online host Damir Kolić also attended the conference, who spoke about his experience on radio, internet radio and podcasts, as well as his diploma and doctorate in shipbuilding.
It was also held Croatian sparkling wine panel - wines with a golden glow, and the main message is that Croatia has great sparkling wines based on autochthonous grape varieties in many regions and is increasingly recognized in the world.
Today there are as many as nine panels on the program, and at the end of the Conference, the MG2 Excellence awards will be awarded to 10 businessmen/entrepreneurs from Croatia and the world who have made Croatia a debt with their business ventures.
