Damir's guest is the famous Croatian painter with an address in Split - Zvonimir Mihanović. "My paintings are warnings, reminders and nostalgia for a peaceful and simple life", says the artist whose works with idyllic motifs of Dalmatian stone houses, boats, bonacs and the sea fetch very high prices in the world.
Mihanović is a great friend of New York and the Croatian community there. "I am proud of the Croatian community in New York, which lives its American life, but raises young generations with love for their homeland," the artist points out.
Painting opened many doors for him and enabled him to tell high-ranking American officials the truth about the Croatian people during the difficult times of the Homeland War. Even Joe Biden visited his home – twice.
