Diaspora at polling stations around the world: "We came from Antarctica to New York to vote"

Elections abroad for the 11th electoral unit were held in 65 Croatian diplomatic and consular missions. Voting took place at 109 polling stations in the 41st country of the world.

Within the European Union, the highest turnout was expected in Germany. Voting is a challenge for our overseas emigration. Four polling stations were open in the United States of America: in Washington, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Croatian citizens in Australia and New Zealand were the first to exercise their voting right to elect representatives to the Croatian Parliament. The Croatian emigration in Canada had the opportunity to give its voice in Ottawa and Mississauga.

In South America, polling stations were open only in Buenos Aires and Santiago. In countries like New Zealand, Uruguay or Peru, voting was only possible by going to neighboring countries.
