A festival in honor of bikla

Do you know what a bull is? The very mention of bikla will evoke nostalgia among those who drank this drink long ago in their youth, but bikla is also drunk in modern times, and festivals are organized in its honor, such as the Biklijade in Vrgorac, which is being prepared this Friday.

Bikla is a unique drink that is made from a mixture of young wine and goat's milk, and is traditionally drunk and prepared precisely at this time of harvest, while there is still young wine.

The Tourist Board of the City of Vrgorac organizes a traditional folk festival called Biklijada, which takes place on September 27 from 18:30 p.m. on the City Corse in Vrgorac!
Visitors can expect a rich entertainment, folklore and gastronomic program, and the highlight of the evening will be a concert by Goran Karan.

Biklijada is an authentic Vrgor event that celebrates bikla, a unique drink made from a mixture of young wine and goat's milk. This centuries-old drink with a characteristic pink color has been preserved in Vrgorac because it is still cherished today through this colorful festival. Bikla is very popular among everyone, many claim that it has healing properties, and some attribute it to aphrodisiac powers.

Along with bikle tasting, visitors will be able to enjoy local cuisine and various handicrafts and local products at our traditional evening fair!

Biklijada, the organizers say, is always more than a festival - it is an opportunity for all of us to remember and preserve part of the cultural heritage of the Vrgor region.
