Last Saturday, Irena Grdinić contacted us from Rijeka with a report about a very special festival that celebrated its jubilee, 60th edition at the beginning of June. The Melodija of Istria and Kvarner is the only traveling festival in Croatia that visits the cities of Istria and Kvarner every year. The festival preserves the musical expression, dialect and heritage of the region, and is based on ethnic music based on the so-called "Istrian scale", one of the most interesting musical phenomena in the world.
