Jure Domazet Lošo is the laureate of the 309th Sinjska Alka.
Sinjska alka is a Croatian knight's game that dates back to 1715. It is held every year on the Sunday of the first third of August in Sinj, on the anniversary of the victory over the Turkish invaders on August 14, which ended the siege of the city in 1715. On that day, 700 Croatian soldiers from Sinj managed to repulse the onslaught of the army of the Turkish serasker Mehmed Pasha Čelić.
For the people of Sinjan, the Alka competition is like a holiday, and every year a large number of government representatives and guests from all over Croatia and abroad gather at Alka.
It was the same this Sunday in the heart of the Cetinje region, and the whole of Sinj celebrated the victory of Jure Domazet Loša until late into the night.
This year's Alka is the most beautiful prelude to the celebration of Victory Day, patriotic gratitude and Croatian Veterans' Day and the Storm action, which is celebrated in Knin on August 5.
