The book&zvook library, behind the production company Audio Store Transonica, has just presented its autumn novelties. Users of the application and web platform of the same name are now available to listen to the audio books "Underground Barbie" and "Proslava".
The cult novel by Maša Kolanović "The Freedom of Barbie" was read by the legendary Croatian singer Tatiana Cameron Tajči in an English translation for book&zvook. The book in English under the title "Underground Barbie" has already been published in Croatia, and it will arrive on the American market at the beginning of next year.
"The choice of Taiča as narrator was great for Barbie! Her voice fits this story perfectly, and the moment of cultural memory of the 90s is not at all unimportant. Tajča is in a peculiar way a personified metaphor of what Miljenko Jergović once wrote about the book, and it hits its essence: "the last childhood in Yugoslavia, the first in Croatia". said author Maša Kolanović about the audio book.

The award-winning novel "Celebration" by Damir Karakaš was also published on the book&zvook platform, which recently saw its English edition and screen adaptation.
"The text is characterized by suggestiveness and poetics and immersion in image, word, tone, sound, silence, which resonate in the reader; the novel Proslava is a significant point of difference in the context of contemporary prose production, according to this peculiar poetic line", says the explanation of the jury of the Tportal Award for the best novel of 2019
