The 73rd Miss Universe pageant will be held on November 16. 128 beautiful girls from all over the world have already arrived in Mexico, and among them is our Zrinka Ćorić.
The first days are filled with registration, fittings, but also getting to know all the girls. Zrinka's roommate is from the Cayman Islands and they get along great. These days, they are expected to have numerous recordings and rehearse the choreography for the preliminary competition, which will take place two days before the final itself, in the DCMX Arena in front of as many as eighteen thousand spectators.
The preliminary competition includes a ten-minute interview, a swimsuit and evening gown competition. No less important is the "Voice for Change" competition in which all this year's contestants participate.
"It is an initiative that emphasizes the importance of positive social changes. This platform is used to draw attention to various global issues, such as equality, education, health, ecology, etc. Through their stories and projects, girls from all over the world strive to inspire and motivate others to get involved in change and make their contribution to create a better world", explained former Miss Universe Croatia Ivana Delač.
No less important presentation on the world stage is the one in the national costume. Zrinka chose the Miau Couture design, whose creations she wore at the 16th Rijeka Stepica event.
This year, the format of the competition has been slightly changed. It will be known after the preliminary competition TOP 30 finalist, four girls will be directly placed as the winners of their region, and the TOP 30 will be entered by the one with the most votes from fans around the world. Here's what she told us before leaving for Mexico.
'"The preparations were extensive, I practiced walking and perfected my English, and I was taught various hair styling techniques by stylists from the Studio Marcel chain of hair salons. I started packing in time and planned what I would wear for each occasion. There are Bariba daily and formal dresses, Baldinini and Humanic shoes, Pletix swimwear and jewelry from Zlatarna Dodić. I also packed make-up in my suitcases, for which I thank Aura cosmetics, Silky hair care products and top-quality preparatory cosmetics by Dr. Vivian estetics. I am carrying a suitcase full of gifts that were prepared by the Croatian Tourist Board for the other girls and the hosts. Huge thanks to them for everything'', adds Zrinka with a smile.
