The President of the Republic, Zoran Milanović, today hosted the members of the Croatian Folklore Group Zagreb from Western Australia, who are staying in Croatia from July 1 to 14 on a tour called "This is the land of my grandfather and my father". During the tour of Croatia, this folklore group from Australia will perform in Zagreb, Vukovar, Đakovo, Korcula and Split, and today they presented a short folklore performance in the Office of the President of the Republic.
The tour is attended by 70 members of the folklore group who will present themselves to the Croatian public with song and dance, said the President of the Croatian Folklore Group Zagreb Zrinka Vlasic and Vice President Raymond Vicko Pecotić during the meeting with President Milanović.

Representing the Croatian folklore group Zagreb, they said that they operate at the Croatian Center of Western Australia in North Fremantle, a suburb of Perth, which has a strong and active Croatian community. They have been operating since 1955, and today they have over 90 male and female dancers between the ages of five and 55 who, performing at major celebrations within the Croatian community, represent Croatian identity and culture to the wider Australian public. They perform dances from Slavonia, Baranja, Lika, Međimurje, Prigorje, Posavina, Hvar and Korčula.

Furthermore, they pointed out that the group preserves the Croatian language, culture and wealth of Croatian heritage through song and dance, and that by passing it on to the younger generations and the descendants of Croatian emigrants, they create the foundations for preserving ties with the Croatian homeland. The Croatian Mother of Emigrants helped them organize the Croatian tour as part of its cooperation with emigrants, and the tour was supported by a monetary donation from the Central State Office for Croats outside the Republic of Croatia.
In addition to the dancers of the Croatian Folklore Group Zagreb from Western Australia and members of the Club's management, the Consul of the Republic of Croatia in Perth, Zoran Šangut, was also present at the meeting with President Milanović.
