The first voters in Croatia have already gone to the polling stations and voted for their candidate for the president of Croatia.
All polling stations are open, of which there are more than 6 in Croatia, confirmed the State Election Commission (DIP), which will report on Sunday at noon how many voters voted until 500:11 am.
It will be interesting to see if the turnout was affected by the low temperatures that were measured in parts of Croatia on Sunday morning, specifically in Gospić and Otočac, nine degrees below zero.
And while voters in Croatia are just "warming up" for the eighth presidential election since independence, voters in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne will finish their work at 9 a.m. Croatian time, as their polling stations open on Saturday at 21 p.m. Croatian time.
Apart from Croatia, the President of the Republic is also elected abroad, in 38 countries, nine fewer than five years ago, and a total of 3.762.224 voters have the right to elect him.
In Sunday's elections for the president of Croatia, the voters decide whether they will 'give' a new, second mandate to the current president, Zoran Milanović, who is supported by the SDP and its partners, or to one of his opponents, namely Miro Bulj (Most), independent Tomislav Jonjić, Ivana Kekin (Možemo), Branka Lozo (DOMiNO), Dragan Primorac (HDZ and partners), and independent candidates Marija Selak Raspudić and Niko Tokić Kartelo.
