The first swimming marathon "Green Lake" will be held in Ričice near Imotski this Sunday, July 14. The organizers of the race from the Imotski Triathlon Club say that the marathon is of an international character, open to all interested participants, members of sports clubs and recreationists.
"In the city of deep lakes, great poets and top athletes, in the middle of July we will have the opportunity to host great swimmers and athletes and discover a piece of the hidden magic wrapped in the emerald green cloak of the Green Lake.", says Matko Divić, president of the Imotski Triathlon Club.
After the Blue and Red Lakes, famous natural phenomena that are on the UNESCO list of protected geoparks, competitors will have the opportunity to discover the charms of another pearl of Dalmatian karst whose beauty and mystery have been jealously preserved throughout history.
Imotski is a city of lakes because, apart from the famous Blue, Red and Green Lakes, we have a total of 12 lakes that amaze with their beauty.
The water temperature in our Green Lake is pleasant, 2,3 degrees cooler than the sea, so I hope that all the competitors will be comfortable, said Divić.
The race was promoted by our most famous distance swimmer, Dina Levačić, who traveled to Hawaii, so she won't be in Ričice, but a few days before leaving, she swam in Zeleni jezero.

One lap of 3,3 km is swum on the course. The competition is part of the Dalmatian Distance Swimming Cup and is officially under the authority of the Croatian Distance Swimming Association.
Registrations are still open, and all those who will not try their hand at the marathon are welcome in Ričice, but they must prepare for the hot weather in order to be able to enjoy the beauty of nature as much as possible and thus be a part of this spectacle on the Green Lake.
