VIDEO Plenković: We are aware that we still have a lot of work to do

The editorial staff of Croatians Online transmits the congratulation of Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on the occasion of the New Year 2025. See below.

    Text below:

"Dear Croatian women and men, in the homeland and abroad, dear fellow citizens,

another challenging year is behind us, in which we did everything to keep Croatia moving forward.

In this year's parliamentary elections, for the third time in a row, you gave your trust to our Government.

This is a great honor and responsibility for us, which motivates us to work even more dedicatedly, aware of your expectations and needs.

The crisis caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine brought insecurity and economic difficulties throughout Europe.

Croatia is facing these challenges as best it can.

We are achieving strong economic growth, faster than most European Union members.

Our goal is clear - that every family and every household feel this progress.

The record number of employees and the highest credit rating in history show that together we are building a more stable and prosperous future.

In 2025, we will focus on further increasing wages and pensions and on ensuring affordable housing, especially for young families, as well as on demographic measures.

We will double the support for a newborn child, and provide mothers with a full salary for the next six months, up to a maximum of 3000 euros.

Unfortunately, the end of this year was marked by a tragedy in Prečko Elementary School, which deeply shook us all.

Our thoughts are with the family of the murdered child and those injured in the attack, as well as with all students, parents and staff.

We will do everything to ensure the necessary security in our schools.

Social solidarity is the basis of our work.

We pay special attention to the most vulnerable - pensioners, people with disabilities and everyone who needs support.

Reconstruction of the earthquake-affected areas has been accelerated, and we continue to invest in the green transition in order to preserve the environment for future generations.

With special reverence, we continue to take care of the Croatian veterans, with whom we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Storm next year.

We are strengthening Croatia's security, allocating 2 percent of GDP for defense for the first time, and the police are guarding the Croatian border against illegal migration.

At the same time, we will preserve our culture, identity and tradition.

We are aware that we still have a lot of work to do, but we are determined to continue strengthening the Croatian economy and raising the living standards of citizens.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you a happy and successful 2025, filled with health, peace and joy!"
