Vjekoslav Franetović: Every person has their own star within them, and they also have a star within someone else.

Did you know that out of the billion stars in the sky, one is registered in the name of Split physicist Vjekoslav Franetović? Not many deserve such an honor, and he, being modest, does not attach much importance to it, just like he does not attach much importance to the photos with American presidents George Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton. He participated in roundtable discussions with them at the White House, but he is more proud of the fact that during the American phase of his life, he established a headquarters in his own home to help and lobby for war-torn Croatia at the time.

On the occasion of the International Recognition Day of the Republic of Croatia, which is celebrated on January 15, our new contributor Day Antunović brings an interview with Vjekoslav Franetović, a world-renowned physicist, humanist and advocate for the recognition of the Republic of Croatia in the United States. Day Antunović is the editor and host of the show “Samo pozitivno”, which you can listen to this Saturday as part of the podcast segment of Croatians Saturday Live.
