We asked Croats in America what they thought about the results of the American elections, these are their answers.
Republican Donald Trump is the new president of the United States of America. The news of his convincing victory over the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris was greeted with enthusiasm by many Croats in America. All those who support him believe that Trump will put American interests at the center of foreign policy, end wars and bring peace to the world. They also believe that the new president will protect traditional American values, increase national security and stimulate economic growth.
He is one of them Mario M. Kranjac, attorney and former two-term mayor of Englewood Cliffs in the US state of New Jersey.
"I'm delighted that America elected Donald Trump as the next President. He has a clear vision for an America for everyone with fixed values and fixed beliefs grounded in the rule of law which will put America and the world in order once again", Mario told Croatians Online.
She is also satisfied with the outcome of the American elections Ana Sikavica from Hackensack, New York.
"And what can I tell you, I cried from happiness or relief. I hope for America to get back on track, to core values, to lower inflation, greater economic security, closed borders, an end to wars, and energy independence. I am optimistic about the future of this country, which I haven't been for a long time...", said Ana.
The reader is also looking forward to the victory of Donald Trump Tatjana Bistre.
"As a proud Croatian American woman I couldn't be any happier to see a President Trump victory and I look forward to watching him revive the American Dream, which is the reason my parents and I moved to this country from Croatia. With a booming economy, secure borders, and a healthier America, we will be able to thrive in one nation under god. It should be and always will be America First in this country", Tatiana said.
The pensioner also believes that the victory of Donald Trump will bring a lot of good things to America, but also to the whole world Jelena Puljic.
"I would like to thank dear God and the Holy Spirit who gave me the feeling that I should vote for Trump. Before I voted, I went to pray to God. I said come, Holy Spirit, help me, and if Trump wins, let him lead our new homeland only justly and honestly, to never allow big powers to attack small countries and to stop the murders of innocent people as they tried to destroy us, but thank God they failed, we defended ourselves heroically. God willing, he will make it all happen. They tried to imprison him, they tried to kill him twice, they failed because God is with him. May God bless Trump and everyone in his Cabinet to lead a good and just America", Jelena said.
He shared his review of the elections with us and Danko Grgas from Florida.
"This request requires thorough thought, I'll try to give you a non-biased view as an independent voter. Ok I'll start with VP Harris, in my opinion she got thrown into the lions den by the Democratic Party as the only choice two months prior to the national election and I didn't see that she attempted to build herself as a formidable opponent to the Republicans constantly bashing Trump as the only way and not giving the nation her real view of the future if elected (on the TV sitcom VIEW) when asked what changes she would implement her answer was status quo therefore I believe that the nation was sick of the status quo. Lastly, personally, I could not see her as a military leader of our great nation.
Now re: Trump, his drumbeat was constant economy, border crisis (illegal immigration), drugs foreign wars. etc. I think that the nation was listening to his sarcastic way and decided yes he is sarcastic among other things but at the end voters came out and decided overwhelmingly an honest election without any hiccups. That being said Trump in his first term as 45 internationally was very successful no other US president crossed the parallel between North Korea and the South he did with a handshake also the Abraham accord perhaps the world would not be in the mess that we are in. We as a nation must find a way to heal regardless of who got elected and not chase to find a way to destroy our elected leaders that leads to only thing and that's our own internal destruction at which our enemies are working on constantly", said Danko.
