Kristin Vukovic joined Sara Skoda, podcast host with Croatians Online, for an interview. Kristin is author of upcoming fiction novel The Cheesemaker’s Daughter, set to release this August about a woman returning to her homeland of Croatia, specifically the Island of Pag, after her father needs her help to save his failing cheese factory.
Kristin has written for the New York Times, BBC Travel, Travel + Leisure, Coastal Living, Virtuoso, The Magazine, Hemispheres, the Daily Beast, AFAR, Connecticut Review, and Public Books, among others, oftentimes writing about Croatia or Croatian culture. She has been awarded a number of prestigious honors through Croatia due to this. She was named a “40 Under 40” honoree by the National Federation of Croatian Americans Cultural Foundation, and received a Zlatna Penkala (Golden Pen) award for her writing about Croatia.
Kristin’s novel comes out on August 6th and will be celebrating the release both here in the USA at several events, and on the island of Pag at the annual Cheese Festival in Kolan, Pag, at the end of August.
