In this episode, we meet one of the most captivating beings in Croatian tradition: the Vila. Vile are nymph-like beings who appear throughout Croatian folklore. They dwell in mountain meadows, at hidden springs, or deep in the forests. They are radiant and otherworldly. Some tales describe them helping heroes, gifting them strength or wisdom. Others warn of their wrath when disrespected. This is the story of a warrior, and the Vila who loved him.
