This October, the first-ever Croatia Yacht Show to be featured in the port of Zadar drew in a diversified group of guests, local leaders, and media, along with a portfolio of multi-million dollar yachts, various vendors, and even a helicopter.
Media columnist-correspondent from the Croatian diaspora in the US, Albert Anthony, provided our portal with commentary about the event:
“As someone with generations of seafaring ancestors, and close ties to the sea, the Croatia Yacht Show was an opportunity to return to my maritime roots and preview the latest navigation technology on the bridge, hear about the unique experiences of the crew and officers, and learn about the luxury yacht market which seems to have a strong seasonal presence on the Adriatic coast. In fact, my grandfather got his start on big ships, almost a century ago like many Dalmatians, which led to the first arrival in America for many of them.
I think that late-season events like this, which target a very niche audience in the tourism sector, could add diversification to the economics of the region, much like the importance of portfolio diversification” , Albert Anthony remarked.
