NYC’s Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival

    By T.B.

On April 20, 2025, New York City’s Fifth Avenue burst with color during the Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival, a lively spring celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free event drew crowds to display creative bonnets—floral, whimsical, or avant-garde—along 49th to 57th Streets, with St. Patrick’s Cathedral as the heart of the festivities. Participants wore vibrant costumes, pets strutted in tiny bonnets, and the joyful atmosphere captivated all.

Dating to the 1870s, the parade started as a post-church procession where elite New Yorkers flaunted fashionable attire. It transformed into a playful display of handcrafted bonnets, attracting milliners and designers, and it has become a part of tradition until today.

Here are the pictures capturing the 2025 event’s vibrant creativity and NYC’s spirited charm.
