RIT Croatia Alumni Reunion in NYC: Celebrating Success, Connection and Shared Memories

Last weekend, the New York City’s Figaro restaurant hosted a small reunion of RIT Croatia NY-based alumni. Organized by the institution, this small gathering brought together President and Dean Irena Guszak, Dragan Mrkajić (Trustee on the RIT Croatia Board of Trustees and an alumnus), and Recruitment and Enrollment Director Ivana Silić with alumni Andrea Ćoza, Anđela Ivanović, Francis Ibitoye, Filip Mišković, Ivan Kolembus, and Marina Miloš Jukić.

The evening was filled with stories of accomplishments and laughter as the group reflected on some of the fun student stories. From Anđela’s hospitality internship at the prestigious Westchester Country Club to Andrea’s passion for teaching, Filip’s graduate studies at Yale, Ivan’s work with Morgan Stanley, Marina’s career in finance, and Francis’s success as a day trader, the alumni represented a diverse range of industries and achievements.

The reunion highlighted the unique connectedness of RIT Croatia alumni—a community bound by shared values, experiences, and a commitment to lifelong learning. “Different generations and different industries, but all connected by their RIT background,” Ivana Silić commented, capturing the essence of the evening.

Dean Guszak emphasized the importance of these gatherings, stating: “Our alumni are what we are all about. Seeing their successes and staying connected with them is not just a source of pride for us, but also an inspiration for current and future students.”

As stories of campus life, career milestones, and future aspirations, it was clear that the RIT Croatia spirit continues to thrive long after graduation. With a shared enthusiasm for staying connected, this group of alumni is already looking forward to their next reunion—proving that no matter where life takes them, the bonds of RIT Croatia endure.

RIT Croatia is a global campus of Rochester Institute of Technology, and since it opened its doors in 1997, it attracted hundreds of students from Croatian communities, particularly those in the US & Canada.
